[Love Yourself, Shun Evil – Season 2] The “Sitting with the Messiness” Workshop
While the first workshop of the “Love Yourself, Shun Evil” Season 2 series helped students understand the importance of self-love, the second part of the journey went deeper: it taught them how to sit with their internal chaos, no longer avoiding it but accepting it as a natural part of being human.
When the Inner Self is No Longer a “Forbidden Zone”
In the hurried pace of modern life, keeping our minds from being swept away has become a constant challenge. Sometimes, what we truly need is not external encouragement, but a quiet space to have a dialogue with ourselves—gently, patiently, and compassionately.

Overview of “Love Yourself, Shun Evil” Season 2 – The “Sitting with the Messiness” Workshop.
In the second piece of the “Self-Love is a Skill” journey, the “Sitting with the Messiness” workshop was a space where silence became the material for nurturing the spirit. If the first workshop opened students’ eyes to the importance of self-love, this second piece took that journey further: it taught them to sit with their internal chaos, no longer avoiding it but accepting it as a natural part of being human.

The program was honored to be joined by M.A. Nguyen Hoang Chieu Anh, a certified instructor of the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program from the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion (USA). With years of experience in education and mindfulness practice, Ms. Chieu Anh guided students into their inner worlds with compassion and empathy.

A Space for Feeling and Healing
Throughout the program, students not only learned fundamental concepts in applied psychology and social skills but also participated in a series of experiential activities, such as:
- The Thought Traffic Light – Identifying emotions and internal states.
- The Plug-in – Replaying emotions and practicing listening to oneself.
- Post-it Note Sharing – Writing messages to themselves.
- Mindful Movement Practice – Connecting with the body and bringing the mind back to the present.

The workshop space was a blend of logic and emotion, where students had the opportunity to name their inner chaos, not to eliminate it, but to understand and accept it as a natural part of themselves. Because sometimes, that very chaos helps us discover ourselves in a true and complete way.

Although the second piece of “Love Yourself, Shun Evil” Season 2 has concluded, what remains in each person’s mind may be the beginning of a new journey—one where self-love is not just a fleeting emotion but a skill to be practiced, nurtured, and cherished every day.
