At the Faculty of Hospitality, student project courses are organized in the form of academic competitions in the fields of restaurant and hotel management, enabling students to explore their potential, gain practical experience, and build industry connections. Students can choose to take part as organizers, directly managing the projects, or as contestants, testing their abilities in a competitive and practice-oriented academic environment.
Over nearly two decades, I-Hotelier has grown from a student project at the university level into a prestigious national academic competition in Hospitality Management. Throughout its 17 years of development, I-Hotelier has embodied the proud journey of successive generations, affirming the quality of training and the spirit of bold distinction among Hoa Sen University students. From planning, securing sponsorships, and selecting contestants to managing events and competing directly, students truly become “industry insiders” right from the classroom — cultivating a professional mindset and building solid preparation for their future careers in the hospitality industry.
For more than a decade, The Future Chef Contest has grown from a student project into an annual culinary competition that attracts over 10,000 young food enthusiasts. It has become a recognized platform for aspiring chefs to launch their careers. Organized by students of the Faculty of Hospitality, the contest is designed as a comprehensive development journey with three competition rounds interwoven with workshops and intensive training sessions. Contestants are guided to create dishes that are not only delicious but also unique, while gaining invaluable experience to support their professional growth in the culinary industry.
Entering its sixth year, the I-Bartender Contest continues to affirm its pioneering role in connecting and elevating the next generation of young bartenders in Vietnam. The competition is open to talented individuals under 25 who are passionate about creative mixology nationwide. What truly defines the identity of I-Bartender is the consistent companionship of leading F&B experts from both Vietnam and abroad. The judging panel not only ensures professional quality but also provides guidance, shares valuable experience, and imparts a global vision to aspiring young bartenders.
Launched in 2018 as a student project, The Guiding Star has steadily grown into a national academic competition dedicated to young people passionate about tour guiding. The contest goes beyond testing knowledge by simulating the real professional journey—where participants learn to lead, inspire, and adapt to diverse situations while pursuing their passion for tourism. Throughout the competition, contestants are mentored by lecturers and industry experts to refine their skills and develop a professional mindset.
