Together with its teaching activities, research is one of several key strategic missions at Hoa Sen University (HSU) towards becoming a prestigious university in the Southeast Asia Region. Through numerous research activities, HSU places emphases on expanding its relationships and partnerships with other universities all over the world.
Research activities are closely associated with HSU’s demand to heighten the quality of faculty teaching and to better serve the socioeconomic development of Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region of Vietnam. HSU has plans to establish research centers that will focus on three fields: gender and society, higher education, and sustainable development. The Gender and Society Research Center, the first such center, has been in operation since 2010.
Encouraging students to conduct research is one of the many objectives of the HSU Board of Administrators and each department. To achieve this objective, research-method training courses and research conferences are held every year for the students.
