Plagiarism is becoming a common and serious problem in higher education in Vietnam. The article utilizes graduation practicum reports of 252 graduates of economics. Results from the analysis shows that the average similarity index between the original report and the Turnitin database was up to 47.5%; meanwhile, nearly 40% of reports with similarity index was over 50%. The Internet has become a powerful tool for these violations. Besides, statistics show that there is no average difference in the average similarity index between majors (accounting and business management), programs of studies (college, university and continuous higher study), as well as gender (male and female).
